I had the best time when The Row came over my house. Yes. You read that right. The Row (that’s Ensembles, Freeway, and Solo) came to my house. And they didn’t just come for a visit, they came in bearing oodles of racks of clothes for me and my sisters to try on. You can now literally shop at home and I don’t mean online shopping. Technically, you still can but The Row offers a new experience of bringing the clothes to your house! You can now fit, shop, and style in the convenience of your home. No more hassle of going out, looking for parking, then walking endlessly in the maze called the mall.
It was November 2014 when I supported the crowdfunding of two ladies, Wenqing Yan (Yuumei) and Victoria Hu, with a dream to produce these beautiful cat ear headphones that use the cat ears as speakers. Axent Wear was started by two UC Berkeley alumni with an idea. An idea for some really great, unique headphones that had never been pioneered before. Or at least, not like this.
My Picks: Top Indie Komiks from Komikon
Every year, I go to Komikon. Our Komikon is different from the comic conventions of other countries because our Komikon focuses on the artists and local comic industry, whether indie or not. Komikon hosts talks and presentations about the creation, marketing, and state of the comic industry of the Philippines. With this kind of event, the industry is creating more and more Filipino comic creators every year.
This year, these are my top comic picks:
Palawan, the great tourist center of the Philippines. It houses the popular tourist hotspots El Nido and Puerto Prinsesa, and the slowly developing Coron. Funnily, Coron town isn’t located in Coron Island.
I’ve noticed that lately, there have been a lot of new beer brands that have been popping up, or have been gaining popularity. Local draft beers, Brew Kettle, and caramel beers to name a few are some of those beers. I can tell how the market for beer had boomed. I guess it’s no wonder that a new beer brand would take its place in the Philippine market.
The #VPartySeries is produced by Breakout Philippines. I’ve blogged about how much I was looking forward to this event a few weeks ago. I was invited to bring two of my friends to try their special collaboration with Victoria Court. Because Spectre was showing, we chose the 007 room to book for the must try terrifying Breakout!
As I was browsing through kFit, I just so happened to see “One Hour Use of Archery Range” in the title. In the midst of boxing, yoga, and gym use in kFit, this stood out. I have never seen anyone do archery before, nor do I know anyone who diligently practices it. I remember that there used to be archery lessons in UP a long time ago, but I never got to try that. After my time in a gun shooting range, I admit my interest was piqued. My fingers raced to reserve the slot to an hour’s worth of archery. I was giddy with excitement while waiting for my time slot to arrive. Sagittarium Archery Range sounds like a promising new sport to try.
This is the best breakfast muffin ever. It may look small, but one serving is already very filling. The best breakfast muffin ever combines everything you love about breakfast into one easy to transport breakfast. We have bacon, eggs, bread, tomato, mushrooms! Because this requires baking, the bacon is super crispy and the egg is always perfectly cooked. Just looking at it makes me drool. This delicious breakfast sure packs a punch!
