#EBloggersBall was held in City of Dreams Manila last September 29. Hosted by E!TV and Clozette, in partnership with C2 Cool and Clean, they gave bloggers, vloggers, and clozetters alike a grandiose event that we all won’t surely forget!
An explosion of amazing outfits, entertaining music, and even more awesome people presented to us all. But being me, the unbelievable food is truly something I just need to tell you about!
Ambiance
The event was held in the luxurious City of Dreams Grand Ballroom 1 & 2. They decorated both ballrooms extravagantly. It felt so magnificent. The lights, the stage, the expensive looking cutleries. Everything was on point!
Service
The service, of course, is more than top notch. Out of all the servers, not one is impolite nor unattentive. Water is refilled religiously, food is taken away and put in front of you with delicacy.
Food
Duck parfait, duck leg confit cromesqui, pomegranate gel, and pickled beetroot
I noticed a lot of people didn’t finish this starter. The flavor tastes too strong for a lot of people, apparently. But I so love duck. I’m sure though, that pureed pure duck, definitely is considered as an acquired taste.
Chicken consomme with porcini royal and truffle cream
Weirdly, this looks quite unappetizing, but tastes more than amazing. The truffle cream’s flavor tastes so delicate yet so full. The flavor of the consomme really is the best with the soup.
Steamed red snapper in chinese cabbage with textures of carrot and ginger
Asian-y taste. This dish reminds me stringly of Chinese and Filipino cuisine combined. The soft but firm perfect texture of the fish is probably my favorite part of the dish. I don’t quite like the cabbage around it. I think it kind of ruins the fleshy texture of fish, but it does help in putting a more Asian taste to front.
Crispy feuillentine, chocolate mille fueille and hazelnut praline mousse
Very creamy and chocolate-y! By this time, I felt full to the brim but made enough room for this luxurious dessert! Personally, I think that this dessert really pulled through because of the wafer thin chocolate “leaves” that packs a real crunch. In contrast with the soft smooth hazelnut mousse, it blended amazingly well!
Overall
I have no idea about this catering’s price point, but I know that this 5 star restaurant is really up to standards. The flavors explode in your mouth wonderfully and the presentation really sets the bar high up. Of course, not all dishes hit the mark on everyone (like the duck) but I sure as hell enjoyed every bite of everything!
