Smash Brothers Barbershop: Lifestyle Review

smash brothers barbershop

Smash Brothers Barbershop opened last October 2016. Still new and fresh in the industry, they’re looking like a barbershop to watch out for in the coming year. Initially, the barbershop only caters to male customers, but they noticed that most men came with their partners and their female counterpart left to spend an hour idly waiting. That’s when they came up with the idea to include packages for female to try. Its a way to engage and keep both sexes happy as a clam.

Located at the Central Business District of Ortigas, both residents and employees near the area have the luxury and accessibility of Smash Brothers Barbershop. The barbershop resides at Corinthian Executive Building which is just across Robinson’s Galleria. On the first floor, the Smash Brothers Barbershop is inside the building making it a wee bit difficult to make way.

You immediately see where the barbershop is, though. With its hip, industrial look, and super macho vibe, it stands out from all the establishments around it. Even from outside, you are greeted by the red brick wall with their signage full blown and bold. I love the look of this barbershop. It’s modern and strong. I especially love the little details they put to make it look fresher and more “macho”. Like the bottles of shampoo and conditioner, they put it inside empty liquer bottles and replaced to top. The brick wall was a great touch. It really gave color to the whole room. I also enjoy the concrete floor. I know they took off the tiles that were previously there and the effect is quite stunning.

When I first got to Smash Brothers Barbershop, the employees were lounging around and I didn’t feel very welcome in the room. They weren’t informed about my schedule and didn’t really know what to do with me. Instead of taking the initiative of helping me out, they mostly ignored me. Still, they were polite and it was understandable since they don’t have any instruction on how to deal with me.
When we had coordinated with the manager and owner, everything was a Okay. Well, not just okay, it was awesome. Their foot spa incorporates 7 steps. From soak, to scrub, to paraffin type moisturizing. Not only did it feel amazing, it gave my feet and legs the rejuvenation it deserved.

The manicure pedicure service was also thorough and relaxing. Using UV technology to quick dry my gel polish, the staff worked efficiently and professionally.

According to my partner, who had gotten their scalp treatment and VIP haircut, he’d be visiting Smash Brothers Barbershop from now on. A converted fan, he swears that it was the best service he’s received. I have a feeling that the super macho ambiance of the barbers helped a lot.

Their VIP haircut was only Php 199. That premium service includes haircut or shave, shampoo, massage and beard trimming. And the foot spa was only Php 299! Such a steal!
Here is the complete price list of their services as of December 2016:

Value For Money

For sure, Smash Brothers Barbershop delivers quality service for a very affordable price. The VIP haircut doesn’t just include a top notch haircut, it also features beard trimming, head massage, and shampoo and blow dry. All for less than 200 Php. Similarly with my manicure pedicure, the gel polish comes at such a competitive rate that I might come here with my partner regularly.

Overall of Smash Brothers Barbershop

I would definitely recommend this barbershop. Smash Brothers Barbershop fulfill their promise of quality service for a fraction of the price. For both man and woman! They treat you professionally and are very adept with what they’re doing.

I’m such a great fan of their ambiance, too! The macho manly feel is uber refreshing from all the feminine and cutesy salons I’ve been going to. Of course, the no-nonsense frill were a breath of fresh air.
